Favourite books of 2020! 📚 The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue & Normal People | Claire Fenby

black and british is an unflinching look at the whitewashing of british history it is engaging accessible but searing

it is one of the most beautiful pieces of non-fiction writing i've ever read and is one that will just never leave me

i don't know how i felt about it emotionally i should have maybe done more planning on this video beforehand because i've literally made notes on every single page of this book which is a sign that i've enjoyed it

it's urgent and necessary and thought-provoking and again made me angry at how much how little i knew and how little i'd actually found out for myself

it is one of the best books it's one of my favorite books sally rooney is now one of my favorite writers

it deconstructs a patriarchal narrative we've created around jack the ripper's victims and gives them back their voice the book reclaims them and the history in a really powerful way
