My Best Books of 2016

this is a collection of one's some was a complete collection and it also has a short story like smacked up in the middle that I was like this is so cool and basically it has all of some of the best things that Gwendolyn Brooks has written in poetry

this is one of those books where you can pick it up and you could practically read it in one sitting I think I did practically read it in one sitting maybe one or two days but very interesting read very well done

this one I think is beautifully done the writing is superb because for me that's most important is the writing in it she puts a lot of feeling and it reads really quickly and not only that you learn a lot about the life living in Jamaica

it was fast it was funny it was moving and I'm not very big intervening memoirs but I thoroughly enjoyed this one

this book wow this book motivated me like mad and one of the best things about this book is the voice and it is a very well-done historical fiction if anything this is the way historical fiction should be done

this is I think it's one of her first books and it's a compilation of short stories which deals with Haitian immigrants and them moving to the US and this is I would say short story collection that doesn't leave you feeling empty or like something's missing

this is his memoir and graphic novel form it tells a lot about his life living in Libya and Syria his father is a Syrian and his mother is French and we are now waiting for part 4 because Desai guy is going to continue

this is basically essays that talk specifically about what it's like to be an african-american today and it covers a lot of different aspects and this is probably off of this list my most favorite book of 2016

we really love this book because this is a slave narrative by told by a white gay man and let me tell you it is spot on if you haven't read this one you absolutely need to pick it up it is so good

it's quite a slow moving paced book but what I found interesting about it is I learned a hell of a lot about the Caribbean through this book and I really enjoyed it I think you should definitely pick this one up because wow really good

if you haven't read the fire next time you need to get on it because this is a major American classic needs to be read by everybody
