I got hooked from the very beginning and then as the book went on... it didn't stick the landing... I had to give it a three cuz conceptually so interesting.
The books I read in March but didn't tell you about!
Unfortunately, this one also didn't live up to my expectations... I gave it a three, which is like a fine rating, right? It was a good book, but not my favorite thing ever. ... Definitely a very original idea. A little bit disjointed.
I'm giving this one maybe a 3.5, whatever it was. This one was a solid four. Well, it wasn't a solid four. I was struggling between 3.5 to four... I respect a lot of what this book is and what it did. I think my favorite thing about the series is what it didn't do... This series was very much for me.
I gave Invisible Monsters by Chuck Palahniuk four stars.
I gave Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan three stars. My three star of Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore did not steer me away from this author.
This was five stars if I didn't say that already. I think this is something that most people should read and will definitely gain something from. I highlighted so much stuff in here. Like it's just it's so good. It's so well written.
I gave One Star Romance by Laura Hankin three and a half stars.
the most unexpected four star was Sloppy First because this is YA, and it's just like a messy high school tale, but I loved it.
I gave The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini three stars.
This is really everything it promises and everything you expect it to be. It has these two sisters... I ended up giving it a four. I wanted it to be a five, and I think it could have been if I got like 50 more pages... Just know I do recommend this.
biggest surprise is how much I hated The Wishing Game... I hated this so much.
I think it's just surprising that it works. Like it works. This works for me.
I loved her writing in This Is How You Lose the Time War with Max Gladstone.
I can't say it was quite as good... I ended up giving it a three. I think it's fine, but ultimately just wasn't the type of story for me. But nothing really wrong with it.
I gave When the World Tips Over by Jandy Nelson three stars.
My answer is Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy. I did cry. I cried on camera. If you know me, you know that if a book makes me cry, it's probably because it was so good and emotionally impactful that like it's obviously a five.
