Now, with all of that said, I'm not loving this. I love the idea of it. I like the concept. I'm having a fine time. I by no means want to DNF it, but I just don't think it's going to end up being more than a 3.75. It's a three.
reading dragon books until I lose the will to go on...
I like that this character is masked and they see themselves as just one thing. I think they have a really rigid kind of expectation of themselves and getting involved with this woman helps her open up let her guard down, literally take her armor off and be something else and understand herself better and be loved. Like I think that was a really beautiful arc.
I'm giving this I'm gonna say I want to say a four, but a four feels like a little high, so I'm gonna say a 3.75. I really liked how we explored relationships and community and like the history of this place and all of the people and the family and how people like remember each other and like work together for a greater goal. I really enjoyed that.
I'm afraid you've got dragons. just didn't really like the writing style of this one. So, yeah, didn't make me very interested.
You could have replaced all just the word dragon with dog the entire book and it would have been the same story and wouldn't have needed like any more explanation. That's how little world building we got or explanation of the dragons and how they were different. And then it was a three, and then it was a 2.5. So, that's where we're going to land here.
I made an error purchasing this today because I read the beginning and thought, "Oh, this will be for me." No. And once the steamy scenes began, I got really cringed out around like a threepoint something. I thought there would be a plot.
There were no dragons in that, but it was about this girl leaving home and entering into this magical world. There's a lot of rules to learn and we learn some of the rules. That one was probably the most intriguing, but I still don't think I'm very interested in it.
I read one other book I didn't actually tell you about because I think I often forget that one of my all-time favorite books is actually about a dragon and that's the paper bag princess. So, I don't really have a review for you for this, but I absolutely adored it as a child and Robert Munch as an author. I'm going to keep my five star rating of this.
they started out with such a good description of dragons to shape a dragon's breath. I don't know too much of the plot. I just know that it opened with a description of what dragons are and how they function.
this one opened up with a woman or a girl, I don't remember how old she was, who was losing her mother and her aunt was becoming involved in her family and there was some like tension and confusion as a young person about what was happening. And then the next chapter, it wasn't technically a chapter, was it? it yeah it was like an in between interlude of a history of dragons like from a book called the a brief history of dragons and I got a lot of information about dragons that didn't make me want to read the book anymore.
