The writing is beautiful. I understand why somebody would love this. I think the discussion around language is really good, really strong.
According to...Jan 🖤 Reading Her Best & Worst Romance Books
Sorry to this person, but this is really badly written. I actually thought there was going to be a plot. I lost brain cells reading that.
Jan and I both liked The X Hex. I can't really remember what happened in that book, but I do remember thinking, oh, for a paranormal, like cozy kind of romance, it wasn't as cheesy and poorly written as I maybe expected compared to other things that I've read.
I finished The Kiss Curse and I'm going to give it three stars. I think that this was fine. There's some repetitive language. I feel like this could have been a little better edited. I don't super feel the connection between these two, but the steamy scene was steamy and it was very descriptive with its foreplay.
There's a couple books I tried out years ago and I DNFED cuz I didn't like them. Like Mile High.
I'm giving this a four. It felt like a really solid four star romance. It didn't do anything that felt like an ick. It didn't do anything weird. It didn't do anything bad, but it also wasn't anything super special for me personally.
I have really enjoyed an Ashley Poston. So, it could be The Seven-Year Slip was a fluke and it just really worked for me in the moment.
I am a third of the way in. And I just like nothing is happening. I don't feel anything. There's no interesting characters. There's no interesting relationships. There's no interesting description.
I don't like this. And I just don't really get it. There's nothing about the plot that intrigues me. Nothing about this relationship. Like, I don't feel anything towards them. I don't feel the tension. I don't feel the yearning.
