Everything I Read in September!
I loved Circe, didn't love The Song of Achilles.
Exit Party by Emily St. John Mandel, 4.25 stars.
Fruit Fly, Josh Silver, three stars. ... Most disappointing though, I'm going to say Fruit Loops just because of the way that people have been hyping this up this year. I don't get it.
I read I Let You Go years ago and it's still one of my favorite thrillers that I or mysteries that I think back on and go, 'That really pulled off a moment.'
It's not what you think by Claire Mackintosh. ... the beginning of this was super interesting and then there was like a little twist... I was like, 'I'm going to love this way I loved I Let You Go.'
Man in the Sea by Ray Nayler, I think this was a three. It feels like, yeah, solid three.
Pictures of You by Josh Malerman, four stars.
Potshot by Laura Pepper Lee. No one is more upset than me that this was a three-star because the first there was one little thing that was questionable in the first quarter that made me hesitant but other than that I thought this was going to be a five-star.
And Queenie by Candice Carty Williams, four stars.
So, I read Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt, gave that four stars.
Roadkill for the letter R, which I gave three and three. Just a three. Three stars.

This is Someday in December. ... the writing of this was great. So, I would read more from this author.
Apparently, I wrote down that I gave Stranded with the Kraken three stars, too. I thought this was a 2.5 and this was a three. I guess it was the other way around.
From my closet, I read Sun Down in Santa Clara. I'm Emily Bux. Four stars.
I gave this a three. It was not what I was expecting as far as genre and it's also not what I was expecting as far as plot even though the plot does describe itself properly.
Tentacles and Triathlons by Ashley Bennett and Stranded with the Kraken by Zoey Ashewood was a three.
And then Take a Hike by Mimi Grace for the letter T, which I of course give a 3.75.
The Girl with a Thousand Faces, four stars. ... This was an excellent standalone fantasy if you're looking for an excellent standalone fantasy.
I loved Circe, didn't love The Song of Achilles.
And read The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery, gave that four stars.
Time Travel for Beginners by Jacqueline Moriarty, three stars.
Something I did give a 3.75 is This We Know Talk About Carol ... At the end of the day, I thought this was really well written. It was atmospheric. It was interesting, kept my attention.
You Should've Been Nicer to My Mom, which I gave a 2.5 by Vincent Tureaud.
