reviewing books I haven't talked about 📚 a new style of monthly wrap-up

Reviews21

my favorite audio book of the month was a Pongal for the wild belt by Becky Chambers I talked about this in a vlog already obviously I gave it a four I think it was just really fun and light and cozy sci-fi but it also had a lot of like really important things to say

it was a really interesting time I think that shaan handles inclusivity and morality just like really carefully all the things that she's covering that children encounter and have to cope with as they can't deal with real life and go into these magical worlds she just handles them with such care and this one was no different

it's just this like whimsical really beautifully descriptive story. I gave this a 4.5 it didn't end like absolutely perfectly for me but it was so close. I loved the writing and I definitely want to read more from this author

Loved it

this one you might have missed my review for if you didn't click on the buzzword video because I didn't want to expose in the original thumbnail what I was going to talk about in that video so all of my thoughts are in there all of my ooey gooey feelings I gave both of those a four

I feel like I'm going to end up recommending elegy for the undead by Matthew vesley quite a bit this is like a zombie story but it's also just an intimate it's more of an intimate relationship tale it's queer horror I gave it a four

my favorite reread of the month this will not always be a category because I don't plan to do too many rereads this year but I did reread five things one of them I don't have and my favorite that remained a five is I'll give you the Sun

Klara and the SunKazuo Ishiguro
Loved it

biggest surprise I think I would have to give to claraa and the Sun by Kazo ishiguro because I didn't love the last book I read from him and I've dnfed something else so I gave this a four

I gave this a fourar I thought it was a good time it was really interesting it's like queer it's playful there's a lot of sexual Freedom or exploits that Mischief Eagle testicle encounters as she is embodiment of like the land in the universe. It talks about gender it talks about tradition it talks about exploitation.

The MessageTa-Nehisi Coates
Loved it

it was definitely a five it's just such a well done piece of non-fiction and at no point did I like know really what if there was going to be an overall message until I got to the end and I really got how everything was kind of connected
