But I gave But Not Too Bold a two, I think. Oh, a three. Maybe.
20 Books I Read in October π
I read Close Your Eyes and Count to 10, which is was a surprising 3.5.
Crypt of the Moon Spider I gave a four. A loose four.
And then my two five stars of that video and of the month, Headshot, fantastic. Headshot was my favorite book.
Instead of getting more interesting, it got sad. It got really devastating and that's just not what I was expecting to read or what I was necessarily interested in.
And itch I gave a two. Biggest disappointment, Itch, The Unwedding, and Hot Wax.
The Metamorphosis I gave a three.
I quite liked this. There was one story in here that was a five-star. I gave it like a 3.75 technically if I take all the average ratings but this feels like a four-star short story collection.
One of our kind by Nicola Yun was a two.
It's a tie between This Woven Kingdom and The Second Death of Lock because they're both fantasy books, starts of series that I think a lot of people would like. I don't see any flaws with them.
I read The Bookshop, which was a four.
I read The View is Exhausting, which I almost gave a four. And I've been thinking about it a lot since. It's really stuck in my mind.
This Woven Kingdom was a three and a half. I don't see any flaws with them. They just weren't my perfect thing.
I gave it a three and I talked at length in the live show as to why. The writing was quite poor, but the plot was interesting. There was a reveal I really liked and I found myself pretty invested in the characters.
Best sequel I read is An Unexpected Peril because anything Veronica Speedwell related obviously has to be the answer.
It's just a lot of thinking. It's a lot of remembering and pondering. And I like that sometimes in this situation, I really did not.
The Unwedding was a two.
My favorite from that video was We Met Like This by Casey West. I gave four stars to an adult romance from her and she's only written YA before.
And then Whalefall by Daniel Krauss. I thought I would love. I especially didn't have fun. And I don't know what people love about this.
And what Strange Paradise, devastating.
