definitely seems inspired by Romanticism in the gothic novel though I haven't read it cover to cover in over a decade it's one of my all-time favorite books definitely time for a re-review
5 GREAT HALLOWEEN READS (Including 1 I haven't reviewed yet!)
it is not only one of the most creepy nauseating and disturbing books I've read and that's coming from me but also one of the most ambitious unapologetically challenging complex and impressive just downright impressive novels I've come across I can't recommend it enough
Ellis masterfully constructs a tale of mounting cinematic dread the book feels like a long fleshed out screenplay with a few scenes that really manage to evoke a true sense of horror it's genuinely creepy disturbing
the writing is sensual and mysterious Gothic to a te it's a sultry hazy collection of surreal adventurous nightmares as if it's all cloaked in mist and fog and overgrowth a unique project and perfect for the season
as an engaging atmospheric mystery it's fantastic it's this kind of religious ferial pharmacological quest one of the best non-fiction books I have ever read
