Stop Ignoring These! | Best Self-Published Fantasy of 2025

Drew Hayes has this way of just wrapping up stories beautifully and fantastically in ways that I particularly enjoy. And where we end Fred like if I had to say goodbye to this beloved series, it ends on a high note.

I loved everything about this book from start to finish. When I came back and I reread it, it just worked for me.

I have to give huge props to Beware of Chicken 1 through 4. I love this found family journey, this cozy cultivation.

I love the magic system here. I love just the intricacies of the relationships and what Hunter is doing.

The stuff that Jack and Rooker go through on the island of Wang Hoon and are subjected to by Gerba Whip Marles is creative. It's zany. It's heartbreaking.

It's phenomenal. Death Sketch definitely was one of my favorite horror reads of the year.

it exceeded all of my expectations and I'm so glad to be back into the series. So, Mark of the Fool makes this list as well by JM Clark.

And then I got into like two and three and I was just like this is great stuff.

Especially Primal Hunter 3. if I'm gonna just do the best of this list is going to include Primal Hunter 3 because I didn't get to Primal Hunter 4 this year. But man, such an incredibly cool post-apocalyptic lit RPG.

This was refreshing. This was the kind of fantasy that I grew up back in, oh, I would say I was reading this in the early 2000s when I first discovered like Dragon Lance and stuff like that.

I've got nothing but great things to say about this book. I can't wait for the second book in this series.

I really, really enjoyed this. This is not going to work for everybody. I'm going to preface this isn't going to work for everybody.
