this has been one of my favorite books for like 16 years now and at this point I don't really see that changing
with strange the dreamer in particular there's quite a bit of setup that needs to be established like we need to lay out all the pieces before we can do something with them but there's no clunky info dumping like she turns the setup into this really engaging Mini Mystery before we get to the main mystery and it is so expertly done
I love this trilogy so much though I am fully prepared to knock this book right off my list in favor of a different Brandon Sanderson book
it's an excellent book among many other excellent books by V Schwab

this series has some of the best storytelling i have ever encountered. i had to go read the entire manga twice.

i just absolutely adored this book. this book was so good in so many different ways.
i read books four and five of the wayward children series by seanan mcguire and i love them. this one come tumbling down has more of an ensemble cast and this one is more of a direct continuation.
i read books four and five of the wayward children series by seanan mcguire and i love them. in an absent dream is one of the more standalone ones like you could totally read this without reading any of the others.
the book and the movie are so similar in so many ways but there are also some big differences and the thing is despite big differences i still love both so much. i might enjoy the book a little bit more but again it's hard to compare them.
obviously i did still enjoy this book very much for it to be ranking so high on my favorites of the year list. i do think i preferred clockwork angel and lady midnight over this one but it's a close thing.
