I remember this being really emotional but I really loved their connection and their romance and it's definitely an oldie but a goodie so I would recommend picking this one up
The Year We Fell Down (2014)
My whole life changed in the blink of an eye. I was supposed to start college on the Harkness Women’s hockey team. Now I’m showing up in a wheelchair instead. There’s only one person who understands. Across the hall, in the other handicapped-accessible dorm room, lives the too-delicious-to-be real Adam Hartley. He’s a hockey player too, but his leg is broken in two places. We bond over broken elevators and video games. We’re just friends, of course, until one night when things fall apart. Or fall together. All I know is that I’m falling. Hard. But can Hartley love someone as broken as me? His deep brown eyes hold their own demons. While my troubles are visible for everyone to see, his are hidden deep inside…

Others: PositiveDelusions spiral toward disaster in Almost Rotten, the second book in the new dark, why choose, college hockey romance series from bestselling author Abby Millsaps. He called me his wife. My brother’s best friend and star hockey defenseman Tytus Tremblay stood in front of the Dean, declared we’re married, and bullied the man into bending to his will. To Ty’s credit, it worked. My job is safe. The Dean has no idea who else was in the video with me. But as the reality of the situation sinks in, I realize just how instrumental Tytus was in orchestrating this nightmare. He’s delusional. Tytus and I aren’t married, even though I used to dream about a future with him. That was before I met Mercer and Noah and allowed myself to fall for two older men. Embarrassingly, when we’re locked away in my dorm, I give in to Ty’s delusions. I can’t help but push the limits, catapulting us toward his fantasies. Now I’m torn between three men, so agonizingly confused I feel myself starting to slip away. When Ty casually calls me his wife in front of his professional hockey team, I break. I can’t go on like this. I can’t keep playing this game. Every version of the future I dreamed of is slipping between my fingers. Irrevocable damage has been done, and I’m afraid nothing will ever be the same again.

Eyes that have haunted my dreams for the past five years. Lawson Hartley is everything I know I can’t have. Older, handsome, and my boss. Not to mention the shadows in his eyes that tell me he has demons, too. Still, he seems to understand me better than anyone I’ve ever met. So gentle and careful of my scars, yet somehow making me believe I’m stronger than I ever thought possible. And when his lips touch mine, I’m lost. We find what we've been missing in each other. But the terrors of my past aren’t done with me yet, and this time, Lawson might not be able to save me...

Others: PositiveSince the moment our lives fell apart, the only thing that mattered was making a good life for my son. A life where he was happy and safe. I just never expected to find that safety with a hockey player known for his brutal dominance on the ice and his recklessness off it. But Cope Colson is so much more. The gentle way he makes sure we’re okay. The playful care he shows my son. The way he truly sees me. When my life comes apart yet again, it’s Cope picking up the pieces. Now, we’re living in his house, eating his incredible, chef-worthy meals, and it’s not just my son who’s falling. It’s me. Because when Cope touches me, I lose all sense. I’m no longer thinking about staying safe, I’m thinking about how my skin ignites with every glance, how I come undone with the barest brush of his fingertips, and when we give into temptation…I’m lost. But Cope has secrets and so do I. And when the forces from our pasts emerge from the shadows, there’s nothing they won’t do to end our happiness once and for all…
